Even though Kuna is small, it has a lot to offer with some of the best sightseeing locales in southwestern Idaho. It also has a strong sense of community spirit that makes it the perfect place to both visit and to call home. Let’s discuss these unique aspects of Kuna in a little more detail.
Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area
The Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area is home more species of nesting raptors than anywhere in North America. About 800 pairs of raptors visit the Snake River Canyon at this spot every year. It is the perfect place for bird watching. It also offers one of the most spectacular views of the Treasure Valley.
Kuna Caves
On the surface, the Kuna Caves looks like no more than a hole in the ground in the middle of a cow pasture. The caves extend nearly a quarter mile north and 1,000 feet south from that spot, once you climb down about 50 feet. They were formed by volcanic activity, so they offer a unique look into the geology of the area. They also present a unique adventure and exploration opportunity as well as a unique backdrop for pictures for those who choose to explore them.
Downtown Kuna
Kuna’s downtown area embodies the city’s warm community feel and spirit with its local shops and restaurants that line the streets. Several events are held there every year including the annual Kuna Days Festival and the annual Christmas parade and tree lighting festival. Also, Downtown Kuna is just a short distance from the Kuna Greenbelt, located on Indian Creek. The greenbelt offers a winding path, lush mature trees, and the ideal place to plan a picnic.
