About Meridian, Idaho

As its name suggests, Meridian is the place to be if you want to be in the center of the action. Meridian is in the middle of the Boise Metropolitan Area in Ada County, Idaho. Meridian is slightly west of Boise, the Idaho state capital. The city of Eagle is to its north, Kuna is to its south, and Nampa, in Canyon County, is to its west. Meridian has been rated one of the best places to live by numerous sources including Money Magazine. It is also rated as one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States several years in a row. One of the factors for this is Meridian’s job market, which has grown much faster than much of the country. Coupled with its abundance of business opportunities, excellent schools, and intelligent city planning infrastructure, Meridian is a favorable location for both professionals and families.

A Celebrated Past

Originally, Meridian was founded by Eliza Ann and Christian Zenger from land received from a homestead grant back in 1893. Many of Meridian’s original settlers moved into the area from Missouri. In its early days, Meridian was the dairy capital of Idaho. Meridian is proud of its agricultural past and commemorates it every year during Meridian’s Dairy Days which is held every June. Dairy Days festivities include a carnival, crowning a Dairy Day Princess, and a parade.

Family Fun in Meridian

Meridian has locales that are bound to appeal to the entire family. The Village of Meridian has fine dining and exclusive shopping venues as well as outdoor entertainment in the summer and ice skating in the winter. Meridian is also home to Roaring Springs, one of the largest water parks in the country. One of Meridian’s most recent residents is Top Golf, the perfect place to socialize with clients, have family gatherings, or relax with friends while trying out your golf swing.
