Like any vibrant city, Boise, Idaho is comprised of several individual communities, all of which have their own distinct flavor and add culture and vibrancy. Let’s take a look at a few of these communities.
Downtown Boise
Downtown Boise can easily be walked, with streets closed off just for that purpose. It is a vibrant, friendly, and safe area filled with warm hospitality in addition to fine dining restaurants, lively night life, and many quaint shops. With the Basque Center nearby, it boasts a combination of Old-World appeal and New World innovation. It’s not just a place to visit but is also its own inviting community.
Northeast Boise
Northeast Boise is home to Warm Springs, one of the most scenic, upscale neighborhoods in Boise as well as one of the most scenic. It has large, majestic homes in addition to the natural majesty of the Boise River and the sloping, green foothills. Northeast Boise is also home to a few newer, desirable communities including River Heights and Harris Ranch. For places to visit in Northeast Boise, check out the Idaho Botanical Gardens and Old Idaho Penitentiary.
Boise Bench
Boise Bench received its name because it sits about 60 feet higher than downtown. Due to this, it offers some of the best views in Boise. “The Bench” is one of Boise’s older communities with a warm community feel. The area also has the ambience of an out-of-the-way suburb while being only minutes from the heart of downtown. Boise Bench is also convenient to the freeway and the many outdoor activities that Boise is known for.
Of course, Boise has other communities as well. They will be discussed in future blogs so stay tuned. In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding Boise or anywhere else in Idaho, J.
